Embracing Winter on a Weekend in Buffalo, New York

It’s not hard to pack a long weekend in Buffalo with activities. The city, located along Lake Erie and the Canadian border, is about a 30-minute drive from Niagara Falls. There are two pro sports teams – the Buffalo Bills play football here (locals like to end their interactions with “Go Bills!”) and the Buffalo Sabres play hockey. And there are plenty of museums, like the Buffalo AKG Art Museum, and colleges. Buffalo also has a robust local food scene with regional favorite dishes and drinks that go beyond wings, though of course we’re going to send you to our favorite spot for those. To help you have a delicious trip, we’ve put together a two-day dining itinerary that introduces you to both Buffalo classics — loganberry shakes, anyone? — and restaurants that take a fresh approach, such as a Texas-Indian barbecue joint.
